Real Madrid Castilla currently is in great form. Raúl’s side managed to pick up all nine from the last nine. An away victory against UE Costa Brava only made it sweeter thanks to Gudjohnsen’s second-half goal.

Castilla begin the game on a flying note and could have had the chance to go ahead soon after kick-off. But the referee blew the whistle and handed Pere Martínez a straight red card for a foul on Latasha within just 14 minutes. But the youth team seemed struggling to convert the chances and half-chances created in the opposition box. Jaume tried his luck for the second time in the match but his left-footed strike inside 30 yards flew just wide. Just before the half-time Gila had his chance to score but his header ended up in Marcos’s gloves.

Coming from the dressing room, Costa Brava had a chance of their own through Xumera but were yet to succeed. Not long after that, with 51 minutes gone, Gudjohnsen rose like a superman and scored a header from Mario’s cross. The Catalan side tried to strike back when Gil unleashed a strong effort, but Luis López stood firm. Madrid’s emerging talent Arribas and Latasa tried to link up and put the team further. But their efforts came a bit shorter. The Madridistas continued to search for goals as Álvaro’s point-blank effort was blocked and then Arribas’s free-kick hit the crossbar. In the end, one goal was enough for Raúl’s boys to hold onto the winning streak.

It was a fourth successive win at the Alfredo Di Stéfano for the Madrid valkyries to climb further up in the Primera Iberdrola.

Madrid started the game well and created two fine chances within ten minutes of the game. Olga flew down the left flank early on but shot into the side-netting before Esther narrowly failed to cap off a nice move. Vallecano tried to up their game and create chances for them. Nahikari had her chance to put her team ahead but her strike flew wide. At 30minutes, Zornoza almost caught Larqué out from the halfway line but her shot just skimmed over the crossbar. Just before half-time, Esther had another chance inside the box but the opposition goalkeeper kept her out.

After the break, it was all about the Madridistas. On 54’, Madrid finally broke the deadlock when Nahikari robbed the ball on the edge of the box and played in Esther on the left to unleash a shot across Larqué and make it 1-0.

The game went on till the end while Madrid had most of the chances but neither of the teams managed to score. The match ended in a 1-0 victory for the hosts.

MATCH REPORTS:  PSG 4 – 0 Real Madrid Feminino

PSG hosted matchday 3 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League against Real Madrid Feminino as the Madrid women team failed to hold on to their unbeaten run in the competition. David Aznar’s side came empty-handed from Parc des Princes following a 4-0 defeat.

PSG started threatening Madrid’s defense right from the go even after failing to convert their first two chances. The hosts hit the first blow through Katoto’s 13th-minute strike. The Madrid Feminino was seen to hit back but failed to make any real chances for them as they were constantly pushed back by the Parisian’s suffocating press. Däbritz doubled the lead for the hosts just before the 45 minutes and Madrid valkyries had the chance to take a break and plan something new.

But the sun didn’t shine for them. After the restart, PSG continued to press and added another goal through Katoto’s headed effort from a corner on 54’. Madrid’s forward Zornoza tried her luck not long after that but her shot was way off the target. Rocío then put the last nail in the coffin by herself when she turned the ball into her net to make it 4-0 for the hosts. Later, Møller had the best chance of the night for the visiting team but her shot just skimmed the post. The first defeat in the competition put David Aznar’s troops second in the group with six points in hand.
